Special Times

As Christmas approaches I am reflecting on times past with my family and friends. It seems like so many years ago that we use to have about 25 or so family and friends over for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The fun, the laughter, the gifts, the food, omg the food. We all must have gained 10 pounds in 2 days. As Italians we would make big feasts from soup to nuts. You start eating about 1 pm and you don't finish until 11pm on Christmas Day. 

Christmas Eve was at 7:30pm to the wee hours, cause then we would all sit around playing cards, or us kids playing games or possibly fighting :). It seems I am just about the only one left in this family of that era, yes we have our own kids and grandchildren but its different and its not the same. Everyone is either living in another state or they are busy with their own lives. No more gatherings, sitting around talking and laughing.

 So I now celebrate with a family from church since we became very good friends. They adopted us and we adopted them. We have mostly every holiday together and though we are much smaller about 13, we now share special times with them. This era or generation is so different from when I was growing up, you always spent the holidays with your family, and you never would be on an iPhone, laptop or whatever else these kids (and adults) have. 

Today you sit down to eat and the kids are texting and ignoring the conversation. It is a sad generation not to know or share with the family. But on a brighter note, I love my friends and their kids as well as they love ours.

Avon Christmas Trees

This weeks Scavenger Hunt is about Trees and I thought I would post about my Avon Christmas Plate from Katzzs Kloset with all the lovely Christmas Trees on it. I always loved real Christmas trees, the pine smell and how awesome they looked with all their fancy decorations. Christmas has more meaning for me than ever before since it was about the time that Jesus Christ was born.

The tree is part of God's creation, and that He made so many different species just blows my mind. The colors of the fir tress are so beautiful and each tree is unique. I have one fir tree in the front of my home and it is finally growing big. Its 8 years old now as we planted it when it was just a little fir-ling :). Next year it should be able to withstand some Christmas decorations.

Sleepy Time Pajamas

Continuing with this weeks theme from ESN Is American Doll 18" Plaid Pj's from Nancey's Doll Closet Store. Now this is a sweet pair of pajamas's for your cute American Doll for your little girl at bedtime. It is done in a pink, white and black plaid with a pink plaid heart on a black top. Also makes for a cute stocking stuffer.

Sleepytime

Well today's Scavenger Hunt is called Sleepy-time and who doesn't like their sleep. Sleep is refreshing to our bodies and helps in healing us. Without sleep we are irritable and get stressed out which causes us ailments. So I would say take comfort in sleep and go to bed early and wake up refreshed as the new day. Hard though isn't it.

Well here at Cutsie Kids I have some sleepy-time onsies for your baby or even doll. They are great also to wear as day outfits in the home or even outside.

Thanksgiving Aftermath

Still with the same theme this Friday from the Scavenger Hunt titled Thanksgiving. Now that its over it was a blessed day being with family and friends. We celebrated with friends which we call our family. All our kids are all over the country so we enjoy our friends who adopted us and we adopted them. Its a great feeling knowing that even though your kids and families are elsewhere you still have someone to celebrate with.

So in going with the theme I choose this sweet little Precious Moments Figurine who is worshiping the Lord, and its because we are so thankful for receiving us as His little children. Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is just a few days off and I must say I have so many things to be thankful for. There is not enough hours in the day to list them all. I will list the most important one for me is God in my life. I am so thankful He saved me and my husband and most of our kids, some are still on the wide path but we know that in the end they will receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. And yes I am thankful for my husband, children and grand-kids  but I must stop here cause I can go on and on. Just living another day is much to be thankful for.

This week for our Scavenger Hunt theme is "Thanksgiving" and to add to the blessings of the day I have this set of cute Bears (Pilgrims) salt and pepper shakers. You can find them and more cuteable stuff at my Katzzs Kloset Store.

I want to wish all a very blessed day, giving thanks and celebrating this wonderful day with your families and friends. Now save me some leftovers, cause where I go for Thanksgiving we are many adults and mucho kids, so there isn't any leftovers. Lol.

No Arrows Here!

A little late in my Scavenger Hunt, but here I am. The theme is an Arrow. Now I have nothing that depicts an arrow but I do have a lovely Indian girl doll head. Now she is sweet and does not play with arrows like her brothers would. She is for crafting an air freshener cover for all you who like to make crafts. Great for stocking stuffer as well. Clowning Around

Today is Scavenger Hunt Monday, yes I am a day late and possibly a dollar short :-). Now the hunt is on for the clowns. I have a few of them and I really don't like clowns. They always scared me and I never thought they were funny. I think the only clown I admired was Emmit Kelly. His face was always sad and I could relate to that, cause I was always a serious child with a few smiles when I was growing up.
Okay enough of that, onto the clowning around, now that I always did, clowned around on friends and family, and yes I still do!

I have in my shop Katzzs Kloset two clowns, one is smiling and the other is so scarey, and I am not sure why I bought that one, possibly cause its a Lefton Clown and bought because of the name and that it is vintage. Of course I will never do that again :-)

No I am not putting that scarey clown on here, just the smiley one!

Twinkle Lights

So today is the day of our Scavenger Hunt on ESN for something to do with Twinkle. I decided to pick from my Katzzs Kloset Store a set of Christmas Musical Lights that twinkle when lit.

Color My Autmen World

Well this is last day of the week to talk about colors on ESN. I choose  Le Petit March's Store for this weeks theme.  Now this is so colorful and lovely with the warm colors of Autumn and done in a silk and polyester fabric which gives it a nice sheen. Fall is here and what better statement then to have this darling blouse for this time of year. The colors are favorites, reds, greens, and orange. So stop by her place and check it out!

Today's Scavenger Hunt is about Color my World. When Barbie was created I was a little too old for her so I never had a chance to dress or play with her and her many colorful clothing. I still don't have a Barbie Doll but I do collect her on Pinterest where there are so many colorful Barbies with all different color hairstyles and fashionable clothing from the 1950's to now.

So I get to keep her on my pinterest board and have some Barbie collectibles in my stores. I am displaying today Barbie Doll Hallmark Greeting Cards  in a few of her colorful and fashionable outfits.

So our Scavenger Hunt for this week is books and do I have a lot of them.I love to read, I have been reading since before school, of course they were picture books at that time, but it gave me a love for reading books. At one time I use to read a lot of romance, history and mystery, now I read the Bible and Christian books which has romance, history and mystery within.

Labor Day Drive

Yep you guessed it. This week's Scavenger Hunt is for Labor Day and I found the perfect theme for me. I am gonna get in my sporting race car and leave town and maybe never come back. Well not really as I can't go too far in this. But it was a great dream and I am sharing it with you. What better way to have a vintage wedding then to make your own bridal gown and bridesmaids gowns. Here is a vintage pattern to make that one-of-a-kind gown.

Why not make your own wedding dress in a vintage sewing pattern by Simplicity. The collarless A-line dress with princess seaming has high round neckline. V. 1, 2 & 3 are ankle-length. V. 4 & 5 are regular-length. V. 1 & 4 with back loop and button closing have long bell-shaped set-in sleeves made of lace. V. 1 7 3 have self fabric tie belt worn above normal waistline. Putting On The Smile

Our theme for Friday at Ecrater Stores Network featuring Le Petit Marche. I find that this is a special time of the year as you celebrate the season with friends & loved ones. Its a time of giving and sharing. Now as I was meandering around I spotted these funny looking snowmen salt & pepper shakers which brings smiles to my face as I remembered as a young girl making snowmen.

Of course today "No Way" but if your looking for a smile wander on over and get yourself a smile, there are many to choose from. Of course come and stop by ESN for other merchants displays and join in the fun.

What Makes You Smile

What makes me smile is the sun shining in my face. But in answer to this week's Scavenger Hunt at ESN I have a few items that really make me smile. Tea For Two

This weeks ESN"S Scavenger Hunt it's all about what goes with dining. Now you can have dinners, luncheons and Holiday dinners and use a special dining set or an everyday dinner set. Having an intimate tea party with a close friend to share and discuss past times when growing up is always good for fun times.

Nancy Pew White Poodle Dog

This week's Scavenger hunt is about puppies so here is my story & I am sticking to it!


Now the only dogs I own are the kind that just sit there and obey my every command. They don't move, eat or drink and make nastily in the house. They sit and look absolutely beautiful on a shelf, in the corner of the room on the floor or wear ever you like them.
I would love to own a pup but the hubby doesn't want to deal with them jumping on the bed and all that little pups and big dogs do. So I settled for second best. Doggies made of glass, ceramics, stuffed and paper dogs.

Summertime! Will We Have One?

Yes I know its not officially summer yet but the way things are going here in PA I am not sure we are going to have one, well not a very hot one. Our days and nights so far have been cool which is a good thing and the sun is shining which is a good thing in this state where I live. Up in the mountains the sun shines about 180 days a year and believe me it is so true.


We did have a great winter, not much snow or ice (thank you God) but it was cold. I am hoping for some warm sunny weather to brighten my days now that I am not working anymore and I can actually see the sun and look outside for a change. The past year and a half I did not see anything being inside a huge warehouse and had no life. Well for now I will have a life and one of rest and of course working on my websites. I have so much to add to each of them. Yes I have a few but that's me I like the challenge.


I will be adding many new vintage collectibles to my stores and especially woman's fashions. I got hooked on vintage clothing and love them all, the clothes, the shoes, the handbags and even the costume jewelry. So look out for all my new old stuff coming in the future days, weeks and months.

The ruby plaza store will be ending at the end of December 2012. They decided not to keep the Ruby Plaza stores anymore which is a shame as I really liked it there, so I will be moving all my fashions and accessories over to Retro Glitz by the end of Nov or the middle of Dec, not sure yet.

Pinterest I love You

I just love Pinterest I have become addicted to it in a good way. I see things I like and add them to my many boards. My goal is to add many websites besides my own so that all have a chance to be seen and hopefully there will be many new sales and new friends for us all.

I have said it so many times that the Internet is a big place and there is enough room for everyone no matter what type of product they sell. I believe there is enough competition for all of us to keep us on our toes and to put up the best product, the best story, the best pictures. If I don't have it then you do and that is what it is all about.

I know I have more to add but time is short tonight and I have a very busy week ahead of me. So I will end this with "Today is almost finished, tomorrow starts a new and fresh day. rejoice in it and be glad that you have risen to it!"
